Dawn Thomas (MAT secondary English education ‘23) was awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship for 2023-24. Originally set to embark on her teaching journey in Israel, unforeseen circumstances led to the cancellation of her assignment. She is now serving as an English language assistant and English art assistant for students ranging from 3 years old through those in sixth grade, who speak Spanish and Gallego, in Galicia, Spain.

Out of thousands of applicants nationwide, 10 students from the University of Iowa (UI), all hailing from hometowns in Iowa, have been granted a prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, which awards the recipient up to $5,000 to study abroad.

아이오와 대학교 (University of Iowa) 학부 4학년에 재학 중인 윤종관 학생은 스포츠 경영학 (세부 전공: 커뮤니케이션 홍보/저널리즘)을 전공하고 있으며, 뉴스 미디어학을 부전공하고 있습니다. 아이오와 대학교 윤종관 학생은 어렸을 때부터 스포츠에 대한 지속적인 관심을 두고 있었고, 한국에서 체육학을 전공하며 곤지암리조트 스키스쿨의 스키 강사로 근무한 경험을 시작으로 본격적인 스포츠 여정을 시작하게 되었습니다. 한국 대학에서 스포츠학을 전공했던 윤종관 학생은 더 깊이 있는 스포츠 학문을 배우기 위해 캐나다 유학을 선택했었고, 캐나다 스키 강사 협회(Canadian Ski Instructors' Alliance)의 스키 강사로서 그리고 캐나다 축구 에이전시 (IFung Sports Management)에서 이적시장 코디네이터로서 근무하며 그의 스포츠 스펙트럼을 넓혀갔습니다. 이러한 경험을 바탕으로 윤종관 학생은 더욱더 깊이 있는 스포츠 학문을 배우기 위해 미국행을 선택하였으며, 최종적으로 아이오와 대학교로 편입을 결정하였습니다.
