University of Iowa student Leona Odole, a double major in math and data science from Des Moines, Iowa, has been awarded a prestigious and highly competitive DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) grant to pursue graduate studies in Germany.

UI and Artsakh State University establish official partnership

Artsakh State University and the University of Iowa entered into a Memorandum of Understanding agreement, established by the Center for Truth and Justice, a U.S.-based non-profit organization formed in November 2020, immediately following the 44-Day War in Artsakh.

6 first-generation UI students to study abroad with help from new scholarship

Six University of Iowa first-generation college students will go abroad this fall with support from the Leona Zaharis Scholarship, a fund that was established in 2022 by Cathy Zaharis (BBA finance ’82) in memory of her mother.

The spring 2023 UI International Student Graduation will be held on Thursday, May 11 from 3 - 5:30 p.m. at the Graduate Hotel.

14 UI students, alumni receive Fulbright awards to travel abroad in 2023-24

Fourteen University of Iowa students and alumni were chosen from about 10,000 Fulbright Award applicants nationwide to serve as representatives of the U.S. Department of State in 11 countries during the 2023-24 academic year. The students will teach English abroad, serve in local community organizations, enroll in graduate studies at cutting-edge universities, and conduct research.
