Study abroad to host info session on writing program in Ireland, Nov. 6 & 12

The Irish Writing Program is a rigorous creative writing study abroad program requiring talent, commitment, and discipline. Its goal is to help aspiring writers become better at their craft. The program offers six semester hours of credit and has two components: writing workshops and interdisciplinary Irish literature and culture course.

Germany is celebrating the 30-year anniversary of the Berlin Wall falling this year. Earlier in October, I was given a chance to celebrate a German holiday related to this tremendous event - October 3 Tag der Deutschen Einheit, or in English German Unity Day.

International Programs official receives Volunteer of the Year Award

UI International Programs Assistant Provost Doug Lee received the International Education of Students Abroad Volunteer of the Year Award earlier this fall. Lee was recognized for his work assisting students throughout their studies and internships abroad.
