On February 21, expert guests from UI Hospitals and Clinics, the Iowa State Hygienic Lab, UI Student Health, and UI International Programs joined host Joan Kjaer to discuss the virus and its potential for harm here in Iowa as well as the measures the university is taking to inform, protect, and support its students, staff, faculty, and the surrounding community.

Chosen from thousands of applicants from colleges and universities across the U.S., University of Iowa undergraduate Tartil Ali has been awarded the competitive Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, to study abroad this summer.

UI students who have recently returned from a study abroad experience were invited to a Study Abroad After Party on February 13. “The event is a celebration of students who are returning from studying abroad. We want to, in some way, recognize them and honor them for their achievement of studying abroad,” said host Kristine Djerf, senior study abroad advisor and program coordinator.
