"Faces of Diplomacy," a traveling exhibit featuring portraits and videos of those who serve on the frontlines of diplomacy, will be on display at the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) from February 23-25. The free exhibit will be located in Hubbard Commons and may be viewed during IMU open hours, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

During her MA in International Studies at the University of Iowa, Rupe became involved with the University of Iowa John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (Iowa JPEC).

Despite having his girlfriend, brother, and belongings in the United States, University of Iowa graduate student Farzad Salamifar was banned from entering the country.

Kevin Kinser will be the second speaker in the Commitment to Internationalization lecture series. His talk, "International University Research Ventures: A Faculty-Focused Agenda for Comprehensive Internationalization," will be on Friday, March 3, at 4:30 p.m. in the Old Capitol Senate Chamber. This lecture continues the conversation about the UI's vision and strategic themes for campus internationalization.

Five days is how long it took before I cried. Not counting when I watched Black Swan on the plane ride over or the tragic video I saw on FB about refugees trying to gain asylum in the US. Those moments both deserved my tears for sure.

The Center for Asian and Pacific Studies and the Japan Foundation will present "Voices of Fukushima: Art, Community, and Information after 3-11" on February 27-28. The two-day event will highlight the grassroots activism by Fukushima residents after the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disasters of March 2011. This event is free and open to the public.

As the UI's international community grows, so does student appreciation for multicultural learning.

International student parents Mohammad Shamsul Alam and Shamsun Naher Nilu are further proof that we can work hard and make our children’s lives better than our own. Asif Mahmood Alam is an international graduate student at the University of Iowa working on his MBA. His parents believe the American dream is obtainable, and can be reached through sacrifice, hard work and support.

Forever More: The Campaign for the University of Iowa. More than 272,000 UI alumni and friends—enough to fill Kinnick Stadium nearly four times—contributed more than $1.975 billion to help the UI remain at the forefront of education, research and health care.
