International Programs at the University of Iowa will host the 13th Annual Fulbright Week, April 6–10, 2026, featuring virtual workshops and information sessions to launch the 2027–2028 Fulbright U.S. Student Program competition for undergraduate and graduate students.

The Fulbright Group Presentation Session will cover award types, application tips, and the campus application process. Attendees will gain insights into navigating the Fulbright U.S. Student Program and maximizing their chances of success.

With the help of two international funding awards, Iowa alumna Kathleen Maris Paltrineri turned her academic research on an award-nominated Nordic poetry collection into a published literary translation.

What began as an opportunity to study dance in Latvia for a year has evolved into an ongoing international platform for Iowa alumna Alyssa Gersony — one that is expanding the real-life impact of dance for individuals who are blind and visually impaired.

This interactive session will cover various Fulbright awards, application steps, and offer guidance from Fulbright Program Advisers.

Dawn Thomas (MAT secondary English education ‘23) was awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship for 2023-24. Originally set to embark on her teaching journey in Israel, unforeseen circumstances led to the cancellation of her assignment. She is now serving as an English language assistant and English art assistant for students ranging from 3 years old through those in sixth grade, who speak Spanish and Gallego, in Galicia, Spain.
