The University of Iowa’s International Programs welcomes three new affinity groups—Southwest Asian and North African Studies Group (SWANA), Food Studies Group, and Global Exchange Network—creating new opportunities for faculty, staff, and students to collaborate through research, teaching, and global engagement.

Internationally recognized artist and environmental advocate Katie Holten will visit Iowa City on October 1 for a conversation about her acclaimed project and book The Language of Trees, exploring the connections between language, ecology, and cultural memory.

Dr. Junghyun Nam of George Mason University will present a virtual lecture examining how protesters and police developed cooperative relationships during South Korea's 2016–17 Candlelight Protests.
