The Food Studies Group (FSG), an International Programs Affinity Group, will host Food Around the World on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Culture Bites Café (Room 120, Phillips Hall). Free and open to the public, the event invites attendees to explore global cultures through one of our greatest connectors: food. 

“Faculty speakers will share insights on the cultural significance of food in different parts of the world,” shared Ari Ariel, associate professor of instruction in history and the founding director of the Food Studies Group, “offering students an opportunity to expand their global awareness while enjoying a variety of food samples.” 

The event also coincides with International Education Month, celebrating international perspectives from across campus. 

The Food Studies Group brings together faculty, students, and staff interested in exploring the intersections of food, culture, and globalization.
