UI graduate Sylvia Dean sat down with International Programs recently to talk about her upcoming Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Award to Taiwan for 2019-20.

UI graduate Alex Bare sat down with International Programs recently to talk about his Critical Language Scholarship program experience in Oman and his study abroad experience in Bolivia. Bare's international journey continues, as he is currently in Colombia as a result of receiving a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Award.

Join International Programs for a week of events to help you learn more about the Fulbright U.S. Student Program! The fifth annual Fulbright Week will take place April 8-11, 2019. Each session will provide different information and will have a Q&A period. All levels of undergraduate and graduate students are welcome! 

The University of Iowa is pleased to announce that Leslie Locke, assistant professor in the College of Education at the University of Iowa, has been selected as a Fulbright Scholar to Mexico for the 2019-20 academic year. Locke will be co-teaching a course and working on a collaborative research project that centers on the perspectives of public school leaders and teachers regarding their work as educators and serving students and families with the most need.

Two University of Iowa undergraduates have been awarded the competitive Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, to study abroad this spring. 

Would you like to teach English, study, or do research abroad for an academic year at no cost? Join International Programs for the seventh-annual intensive Fulbright U.S. Student Program workshop on Friday, January 25, 2019, from 8:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Big Ten Theater (Room 348 in the Iowa Memorial Union).

International Programs will host a Boren Awards information session on Tuesday, November 13, from 3:30-5 p.m. in 1117 University Capitol Centre. Learn about award requirements, the application process, and have your questions answered by Boren representative Jeff Cary and campus advisor Karen Wachsmuth.
