Seventeen University of Iowa students and alumni were chosen from about 10,000 Fulbright Award applicants nationwide to serve as representatives of the U.S. State Department to teach English abroad and to undertake public health research and creative writing projects in 16 countries during the 2022-23 academic year.

Holly Harris, who received a BA in international studies and Portuguese with a minor in Spanish from the University of Iowa in fall 2021, is the winner of a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Award to Brazil for 2022-23.

Hannah Haack, who received a BA in history with a minor in German from the University of Iowa in May 2021, is the winner of a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Award to Germany for 2022-23.

Isabelle Davis, who will receive a BA in international studies from the University of Iowa in May 2022, is the winner of a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Award to Turkey for 2022-23

Sarah Nunez, who will receive a BA in social work from the University of Iowa in May 2022, is the winner of a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Award to Mexico for 2022-23

Alia Mnayer, who will receive a BA in English and creative writing from the University of Iowa in May 2022, is the winner of a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Award to Morocco for 2022-23

Andrea Childs, who will receive a BA in English and English education from the University of Iowa in May 2022, is the winner of a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Award to Bulgaria for 2022-23
