In what ways are you involved with international education?
My most impactful international education experience was my spring 2025 study abroad semester in Seoul, South Korea. At the University of Iowa, I am a member of Tippie International Buddies, the Communications Coordinator at Global Ties Iowa, a Study Abroad Outreach Assistant for Tippie Global Programs, and I am pursuing a certificate in international business.
What are some other campus or community involvement activities you’ve been a part of?
I am the co-founder and president of Ethics Bowl at the University of Iowa, an organization that utilizes public speaking and debate skills to successfully answer questions about contemporary moral and philosophical issues. I am also a discover guide for the Tippie College of Business. I formerly worked as a teaching assistant for Introduction to Honors; research assistant for the Disasters, Migration, and Violence Lab; competitor on the National Diversity Case Competition Team; and senator in the Undergraduate Student Government.
What is the most valuable thing you have learned through your international education experiences?
The most valuable lesson I have learned through my international education experiences is the importance of cultural curiosity. By exploring countries, from Portugal to China to South Korea and more, I have experienced cultures and customs unique to my experiences in Iowa. Remaining culturally curious has allowed me to connect with a wider range of people while abroad, building more meaningful relationships and impactful experiences.
