Four University of Iowa students have been awarded the Leona Zaharis Scholarship to support their study abroad experiences in summer and fall 2026. 

Eleven University of Iowa (UI) undergraduate students will participate in internships abroad in summer 2026, thanks to support from the Dr. Ken Magid Scholarship, a fund established by the late Linda Baker (BA English ’68) in memory of her former mentor, author and child behaviorist Dr. Kenneth Magid.

Three University of Iowa undergraduate students have been awarded the Richard J. Tyner Scholarship to study abroad in 2026.

For the summer and fall 2026 academic sessions, Study Abroad at the University of Iowa awarded more than 70 merit-based scholarships to undergraduate students participating in programs around the world. With support from alumni and donors, these awards help make study abroad more accessible and provide students with the opportunity to engage with new cultures, perspectives, and academic experiences outside the United States.

Lucia Rongerude (BA linguistics and Spanish ’26) is the recipient of a 2026–27 Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) Award to Colombia.

Klaertje Hesselink (BS chemical engineering ’26) has received a Fulbright Study/Research grant to Germany for the 2026–27 academic year.
