Study abroad to host info session on pain and palliative care program in India, Aug. 27 & 28

Would you like to gain knowledge and expanded awareness of the dying and grief journey while exploring the development and delivery of palliative care in India?

Learn about the application process and logistics for this amazing UI faculty-led study abroad program at one of two upcoming info sessions:

August 27  | 5 - 6:30 p.m.  | 1117 University Capitol Centre

August  28  | 2:30 - 4 p.m. | 1117 University Capitol Centre

Joined by UI Professor Stephanie Gilbertson-White, students will contrast the principles and practices of palliative care in an insurance-driven environment such as the U.S. with the philanthropic model in India. With a combination of didactic classroom sessions, service projects, home visits, and rounds in the inpatient units, students will develop an understanding of the needs of the seriously ill in a low resource environment.
