    International Impact Award: The International Impact Award recognizes distinguished alumni and other individuals with significant ties to the UI who have made important contributions internationally or, in the case of international alumni, abroad in their home countries. The International Impact Award is presented by the UI president during International Education Week in a public ceremony.

    The University of Iowa Distinguished Alumni Awards: The Distinguished Alumni Awards aim to recognize a broad range of qualified candidates who embody the university’s core values. The committee selects annual recipients for multiple categories.

Fulbright recipient Dawn Thomas reflects on her impactful work teaching English and art in Spain

Dawn Thomas (MAT secondary English education ‘23) was awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship for 2023-24. Originally set to embark on her teaching journey in Israel, unforeseen circumstances led to the cancellation of her assignment. She is now serving as an English language assistant and English art assistant for students ranging from 3 years old through those in sixth grade, who speak Spanish and Gallego, in Galicia, Spain.
