UI students who are interested in having a unique hands-on study abroad experience in Italy are invited to attend an information session on the Archaeological Field Work Abroad program, on Tuesday, November 6, from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in 1111B University Capitol Centre.
Come to learn about this 5-week field school course at the Greco-Roman site of Gangivecchio in Sicily. While in Italy, students will learn the most up-to-date Sicilian methods of excavation while earning 3 semester hours of resident credit, mediated through Dr. Glenn Storey. Students will excavate one by one-meter sections of units in Particella 19 in order to expose structural elements of the known Roman villa in that field.
Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Glenn Storey in advance at glenn-storey@uiowa.edu or 319-335-1866.
