Enjoy authentic green tea and sweets from Japan at the UI Japanese Program's Tea Ceremony events on Monday, August 20, 1-4 p.m. and Tuesday, August 21, 1-4 p.m. at MERGE in downtown Iowa City (136 South Dubuque Street).

Miki Mika, a practitioner of the Omotesenke school of the Japanese tea ceremony, will make tea and teach the basics of the tea ceremony.

This is a drop-in event; come and go as you please, participate or simply observe. (To participate, please wear long pants and socks.)

This event is made possible thanks to generous funding by the Japan Foundation Institutional Project Support (IPS) Grant to the University of Iowa and the Center for Asian and Pacific Studies (CAPS) at the University of Iowa.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Kendall Heitzman in advance at kendall-heitzman@uiowa.edu, or (319) 335-1305.
