Have you ever thought about doing an internship abroad—or already completed one and wondered how to make it shine on your resumé? If so, this event is for you.

The University of Iowa Study Abroad team and the Pomerantz Career Center are hosting a virtual session designed to help students maximize the impact of international internships. Whether you’ve just returned from working abroad or are planning your first global experience, this session will give you the tools you need.

"This webinar offers information on the best ways to get the full benefit from international internships," said Monica Ernberger, assistant director of international internships in the UI Study Abroad Office. "Come learn how to feature them on a resumé, create an elevator speech, capitalize fully on upcoming career fairs, and more."


Meet the Speakers

Monica Ernberger, assistant director of international internships in UI Study Abroad, is an expert in global internships and advocates for making study abroad financially accessible. She also does program coordination, outreach, and study abroad advising for the Tippie College of Business, the College of Public Health, and the Global Health program. Living and studying abroad as a student led to her 20+ year career in higher education. Recently completing a two-year term in the inaugural cohort for the Gilman Advisor Ambassadors' Program, she enjoys helping others increase their college and universities' outreach efforts through the promotion of using high-impact scholarships to fund international internships and experiential learning opportunities.

Paula Ross is the assistant director of peer programs and a career coach at the Pomerantz Career Center, with expertise in career development. Ross supports students in maximizing their internship experiences and preparing for global career opportunities. She is passionate about helping students develop practical skills and cultural awareness to thrive in internships abroad and beyond.
