Join the UI Japanese Program for two evenings (October 16 & 17) of bilingual readings with author Fujino Kaori!  Fujino Kaori, winner of the Akutagawa Prize and 2017 International Writing Program participant, will read from two of her short stories in the original Japanese, and members of the Workshop in Japanese Literary Translation will read from their English translations. Both events are free and open to the public.

“Pfeiffenberger”
Musclebound Austrian-born Hollywood action star Michael Pfeiffenberger is the only one who can possibly save us now. Too bad he’s been dead for a long, long time.

Fujino Kaori is a participant in the 2017 International Writing Program. The author of several novellas and collections of short stories, she won the Akutagawa Prize in 2013 for her acclaimed novella Nails and Eyes.
