Three UI Faculty awarded prestigious Fulbright grants

Fulbright grants have a growing presence at the University of Iowa. This year, a record-breaking nineteen students and three faculty members were awarded Fulbrights to conduct research, study, or teach abroad. While the student program has recently achieved more prominence, recent changes in policy for faculty members have made pursuing faculty Fulbrights a much easier process.

UI professor to examine global aging in Mexico as a Fulbright scholar

Mercedes Bern-Klug was awarded a Fulbright grant to the University of Guadalajara, Mexico. As a gerontology specialist, she will be teaching a class on global aging, and will also study and assist in the development of social services in Mexico.

UI professor to teach and conduct research in Mexico as a Fulbright scholar

The University of Iowa is pleased to announce that Leslie Locke, assistant professor in the College of Education at the University of Iowa, has been selected as a Fulbright Scholar to Mexico for the 2019-20 academic year. Locke will be co-teaching a course and working on a collaborative research project that centers on the perspectives of public school leaders and teachers regarding their work as educators and serving students and families with the most need.
