I am missing Central America! Since being home, things have just seemed EASY-- like everyone speaking the same language, top-notch infrastructure, etc... a little shock after three months gone. Being surrounded by nature and the KINDEST people, along with the challenge of navigating everyday life in a foreign place is what I miss most! I felt like I was always learning and growing from the locals.

The University of Iowa is pleased to announce that Betsy Stone, a professor in the departments of chemistry and chemical and biochemical engineering, has received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program award to Australia for the 2022-2023 academic year from the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.

The recipient of multiple student funding research awards while at Iowa, Briana Smith attributes many of her successes to her time at Iowa and the support she received from faculty and staff mentors.

In a celebration of perseverance, accomplishment, and their collective experiences, international students at the University of Iowa held an affinity graduation ceremony on Thursday, May 12.
