Herky with passport

International Programs was proud to celebrate the Grand Opening Celebration of the University of Iowa Passport Office on Wednesday, November 17.

Open to the public, festivities included remarks from Russ Ganim, associate provost and dean of International Programs, a ribbon-cutting, free UI luggage tags, light refreshments, and a visit from Herky, who applied for a passport and posed for selfies.

"The event was a true delight, as we welcomed dignitaries from Iowa’s congressional delegation, the entire IP staff, and, the guest of honor himself, Herky!," reflected Ganim. "What a pleasure it was to officially inaugurate a facility that will serve not just the University of Iowa, but Iowa City and the surrounding area. Several members of the community have already taken advantage of the office to apply for new passports or renew existing ones."

The UI Passport Office serves the University of Iowa community and the general public. Conveniently located in 1111 University Capitol Centre, the office processes new U.S. passport applications and child/minor renewal applications.
