Learn about an amazing opportunity to kick off your summer with a two-week, faculty-led session exploring China and gaining experience in international business.

Led by UI professor Bob Walker, students will explore the business and cultural environment of China during the May session. Through lectures, readings, case studies, company visits, and immersion in cultural experiences, students will develop greater awareness of Chinese history, politics, business, economics, and culture. Topics may include: Chinese business culture and relationships, local companies going global, business strategies of multinational companies in the Chinese market, US-China trade relations, entrepreneurship, the Chinese consumer, sustainability, and social responsibility.

Eligibility
To have the best possible experience, you must meet the following requirements:

  • GPA: 2.75 UI and cumulative
  • Minimum 30 s.h. completed prior to the program (May 2020)
  • Academic Prerequisites: ECON:1100, ECON:1200, or approval of program director
  • Preference given to sophomores and juniors
