Stanley Museum of Art on sunny day

February 2, 2023 | 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

After the former home of the University of Iowa's art collection was so damaged by the flood of 2008 that it was unable to safely house the UI’s priceless art collection, the process of imagining a new space and raising the many millions of dollars it would take to build it began.  Finally, in August 2022, the new UI Stanley Museum of Art opened to massive crowds and much acclaim.

Our guests helped us move beyond the surface of some of the museum’s most prized works to better understand their origin, their importance in the larger constellation of artistic movements, and their ability to engage the viewer in the language of artistic expression.

Location: UI Stanley Museum of Art, 160 W. Burlington Street

Free and open to the public.
