Adrien Wing, associate dean for International and Comparative Law Programs and the Bessie Dutton Murray Professor in the UI College of Law, will explore diversification in international education as part of International Programs’ annual Commitment to Internationalization Lecture Series.

Andrew Gordon is the seventh speaker in the Commitment to Internationalization lecture series. His talk, "Advancing Equity & Inclusion Through Global Engagement," will be on November 17, 2020, at 3:30 p.m., via Zoom. This lecture continues the conversation about the UI's vision and strategic themes for campus internationalization.

Hans de Wit is the sixth speaker in the Commitment to Internationalization lecture series. His talk, "Internationalization of Higher Education for Society, Moving Back from Competition to Co-operation," will be on November 7, 2019, from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. in room 1117 of the University Capitol Centre. This lecture continues the conversation about the UI's vision and strategic themes for campus internationalization.

With the assistance of the UI Office of Strategic Communication, International Programs recently created a video that provides an overview of the exciting ways we help to connect Iowa with the world and the world with Iowa. 

In an era where data is king and budgets are tight, International Programs Associate Provost Downing A. Thomas, in a recent article for IIENetworker, shows how the University of Iowa is using data to better inform strategic decisions and measure international impact as it relates to furthering specific institutional goals.

Her talk, "Are We There Yet?:  The Long (and Winding) Road to Global Learning for All," will be on Thursday, November 2, at 4:00 p.m. in the Old Capitol Senate Chamber. This lecture continues the conversation about the UI's vision and strategic themes for campus internationalization.

The University of Iowa is one of only four schools in the United States to receive the prestigious 2017 Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization by NAFSA: Association of International Educators. Named for the late U.S. senator from Illinois Paul Simon, a champion of international education and cultural exchange, NAFSA’s Simon awards recognize colleges and universities that are making significant, well-planned, well-executed, and well-documented progress toward comprehensive internationalization—especially those using innovative and creative approaches.

His talk, "International University Research Ventures: A Faculty-Focused Agenda for Comprehensive Internationalization," will be on Friday, March 3, at 4:30 p.m. in the Old Capitol Senate Chamber. This lecture continues the conversation about the UI's vision and strategic themes for campus internationalization.

This lecture will be in coordination with the UI's vision and strategic themes for campus internationalization.

Tucked away in the depths of the Main Library, you can sometimes find students meeting to have engaging conversations. These students, however, aren’t quizzing each other for an upcoming exam or taking a study break for a light chat. They are students broadening their communication skills while simultaneously breaking down cultural barriers.
