UI Associate Professor of Instruction and Coordinator of the Russian program, Irina Kostina, was awarded the International Programs’ Special Projects Award to host a virtual conference about a conflict-ridden region near Russia titled “Caucasus: A Mosaic of Histories and Cultures.”

Adrien Wing, associate dean for International and Comparative Law Programs and the Bessie Dutton Murray Professor in the UI College of Law, will explore diversification in international education as part of International Programs’ annual Commitment to Internationalization Lecture Series. 

Bernie Burrola, Vice President of Office for International, Community and Economic Engagement, Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU), is the ninth speaker in the Commitment to Internationalization Lecture Series.

Hans de Wit is the sixth speaker in the Commitment to Internationalization lecture series. His talk, "Internationalization of Higher Education for Society, Moving Back from Competition to Co-operation," will be on November 7, 2019, from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. in room 1117 of the University Capitol Centre. This lecture continues the conversation about the UI's vision and strategic themes for campus internationalization.

Madeleine Green is the third speaker in the Commitment to Internationalization lecture series. Her talk, "Are We There Yet?:  The Long (and Winding) Road to Global Learning for All," will be on Thursday, November 2, at 4:00 p.m. in the Old Capitol Senate Chamber. This lecture continues the conversation about the UI's vision and strategic themes for campus internationalization.

Kevin Kinser will be the second speaker in the Commitment to Internationalization lecture series. His talk, "International University Research Ventures: A Faculty-Focused Agenda for Comprehensive Internationalization," will be on Friday, March 3, at 4:30 p.m. in the Old Capitol Senate Chamber. This lecture continues the conversation about the UI's vision and strategic themes for campus internationalization.

Ellen Hazelkorn will be kicking off the Commitment to Internationalization lecture series with her talk, “Internationalization and the Geopolitics of Higher Education,” on Wednesday, November 16, at 4:30 p.m. in the Old Capitol Senate Chamber.
