Oscar-nominated director and journalist Shiori Ito will visit the University of Iowa on October 23, 2025, for a screening and Q&A of her groundbreaking documentary Black Box Diaries.

Tsabari will read from her novel, Songs for the Brokenhearted, and share insights about Yemeni Jewish identity, culture, and traditions.

The University of Iowa’s International Programs has named Karri Goeldner Byrne and Gregs G. Thomopulos as recipients of the 2025 International Impact Award, recognizing their outstanding global contributions.
