English Proficiency Development Opportunities
- English as a Second Language (ESL)
- ESL Programs offers English as a Second Language (ESL) credit classes, provides individual appointments through the English Language Center, and many other programs as well as providing English Placement examinations.
- Campus Conversation Partners
- Campus Conversation Partners is a program sponsored by ESL Programs that pairs students, scholars, and staff who use English as an additional language (EAL) with University faculty and staff who are proficient in English for one-on-one, informal conversation in English.
- International Women’s Club
- Informal conversation sessions are offered by the program.
- Kirkwood Community College
- Free to eligible adults through Kirkwood’s Adult Basic Education Program in Iowa City. For more information call 319-887-3646 or visit their website.
