It is no secret that many Fulbright scholars have an impressive track record. They excel in their fields and, to many, seem to be natural-born leaders among their peers. University of Iowa graduate and Fulbright recipient Destinee Gwee is no exception.

Laura Wang, who will receive a B.A. in English and Chinese from the UI this May, is the winner of a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship to Taiwan for 2016-17.

Destinee Gwee, a recent graduate of the UI with a B.A. in biochemistry and Chinese, is the winner of a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship to Taiwan for 2016-17.

Brett Burk, of Oskaloosa, IA, has been awarded a Fulbright U.S. Student Award to pursue an English Teaching Assistantship in Taiwan for 2015-16. Burk graduated from the University of Iowa in December 2014 with a B.A. in linguistics and an emphasis in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language).
