Ready to take your UI education beyond Iowa City?

The University of Iowa Study Abroad Fair takes place Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (CDT) in the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) International Ballroom.

Whether you're just curious or already planning, this is your opportunity to discover what studying abroad can look like for you.

At the fair, you'll discover:

  • Short-term, semester-long, and faculty-led programs in over 40 countries
  • Internship and research opportunities that count toward your degree
  • Scholarships and funding opportunities
  • Study abroad advisors, faculty program directors, academic advisors, and students who have studied abroad will be available to answer your questions, discuss options, and show how programs fit into different majors.

Open to all UI students.

All attendees who register their attendance will be entered to win one of four $500 study abroad scholarships.

International Programs (IP) at the University of Iowa (UI) is committed to enriching the global experience of UI students, faculty, staff, and the general public by leading efforts to promote internationally oriented teaching, research, creative work, and community engagement.  IP provides support for international students and scholars, administers scholarships and assistance for students who study, intern, or do research abroad, and provides funding opportunities and grant-writing assistance for faculty engaged in international research. IP shares their stories through various media, and by hosting multiple public engagement activities each year.
