Purpose
Through the generous support of the E & M Charities Asian and Pacific fund, CAPS Faculty Conference Travel Awards provide funding for UI faculty to attend or present at domestic or international conferences related to East Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific region. Awards will not exceed $800 for traveling to conferences domestically (including Canada) and $1,200 for traveling to conferences internationally. Applicants are encouraged to supplement their awards with funds from other sources.
Application deadline: April 1 and November 1
Eligibility
University of Iowa tenured, tenure-track, instructional-track, clinical, and research faculty with a 50% or greater appointment, whose research primarily focuses on the cultures, societies, and institutions of East Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific region.
The following are ineligible: Visiting faculty, postdoctoral scholars, graduate, undergraduate, professional students, and student organizations.

Application Process
Complete the online application form. You will need to have the following to complete the form:
- Information about the conference and the applicant's roles and activities during the conference
- a brief budget outline, including funds pending or committed (sources and amounts)
