International studies and economics student Ryann Hubbart of Clinton, Iowa, has been awarded a 2023 U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) to study Arabic in Nizwa, Oman. 

International studies student Abigail Fowler of North Liberty, Iowa, has been awarded a 2023 U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) to study at Okayama University for an intensive Japanese language program. 

Attendees will learn the basics of study abroad, discover scholarship opportunities, and hear from study abroad returnees! 

Recently returned from abroad, this winter’s Diversity Ambassadors Scholarship recipients share what they thought of their experiences and what advice they might have for others considering studying abroad. 

The Iowa Hispanic Institute program offers six weeks of academic instruction and gives students a chance to improve their Spanish, live with a host family, and explore the culture of Spain.
