About the Contest

The International Photo Contest is held annually in conjunction with International Education Week (November 13-17, 2023).

Show off your Hawkeye spirit and share your unique international experiences (both on campus and abroad). Whether it’s flying the Hawkeye flag from the top of the Swiss Alps, marching in the homecoming parade as an international student, or showcasing a summer internship in South Africa, we'd love to see it!

Winning photographs will be showcased across campus during International Education Week as well as featured in an Iowa Now article.

Eligibility

All current University of Iowa students (domestic and international) are invited to submit photos to our 2023 International Photo Contest.

Monthly Instagram International Photo Contest

Enter your photo(s) in one of our monthly Instagram contests: 

  • Study abroad students: Tag @uiabroad in your Instagram posts and study abroad photos 
  • International students: Tag @uiowaisss in your Instagram posts and photos 

Each month on our Instagram accounts, a panel of judges will pick two winners to receive a limited-edition International Programs YETI Rambler water bottle. Additionally, all contest winners and finalists will be entered in the UI’s annual International Photo Contest that occurs in November.
