December 11 - Earliest date you may enter the U.S. in F-1 or J-1 status
January 12 - Date by which you should arrive in Iowa City; residence halls open at 12:00 p.m. for new international students with residence hall contracts
January 14 - Check-in with ISSS
January 14-18 - International Student Orientation
January 22 - Classes begin
 

Summer 2013 Orientation - Undergraduates and Graduates

May 5 - Earliest date you may enter the U.S. in F-1 or J-1 status
June 4 - Date by which you should arrive in Iowa City
June 5 - Check-in with ISSS
June 5-7 - International Student Orientation
