four images of students studying abroad

Studying abroad is one of the most transformative experiences a student can have in college. In order to highlight and bring awareness to the benefits and impact of studying overseas, the University of Iowa is celebrating National Study Abroad Day on February 27, with three essential information sessions hosted by advisors, financial aid experts, and UI students who have already studied abroad.

Attendees will learn the basics of study abroad, discover scholarship opportunities, and hear from study abroad returnees!

All events will be held at 1117 University Capitol Centre.

10:30 a.m. - Discover Study Abroad - Required for all students who study abroad, this 30-minute session will provide an overview of study abroad and the steps you’ll need to take to find and apply for the right international opportunity.

1 p.m. - Financing Study Abroad - Learn how your financial aid, scholarships, and grants follow you when you study abroad and what additional scholarships and grants are available specifically for studying abroad.

5 p.m. - Hawks Like Me - Meet students who have returned from studying abroad. Hear how they chose their programs, what they learned, and ask your questions to those who really know what it is like to study abroad.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Kristine Djerf in advance at kristine-djerf@uiowa.edu or 319-335-0353.
