two people walking down a path in Spain

Learn about an amazing opportunity to walk a portion of the world-famous Camino de Santiago with UI music professors Trevor Harvey and David Puderbaugh on the new faculty-led program “Walking the Camino de Santiago: Music, Community, and Global Citizenship." At two upcoming information sessions faculty leaders will provide an overview of the course, as well as the expectations for walking, physical preparation, and equipment. Bring your questions!

Walking the Camino de Santiago—a centuries-old path across northern Spain, leading to the city of Santiago de Compostela—promises an immersive experience merging 1,000 years of history, spirituality, musical traditions, and exposure to a panoply of cultures. Students will participate firsthand in the convergence of music and community while walking a portion of the Camino de Santiago—from León to the Atlantic Ocean—learning what this modern-day pilgrimage adventure instructs its participants about global citizenship in the 21st century.
