Orientation attendance is required of all new and transfer students. Detailed orientation schedules are available in the Pre-Arrival Checklist via the iHawk system before orientation begins.

Summer 2024 Orientation

Undergraduate and Graduate/Professional Students Combined

May 5, 2024: Earliest date you may enter the U.S. in F-1 or J-1 status
June 4, 2024: Latest date by which you should arrive in Iowa City
June 5, 2024: International Student Orientation
June 10, 2024: Classes begin

Dental Students

May 27, 2024: Earliest date you may enter the U.S. in F-1 or J-1 status
June 26, 2024: Latest date by which you should arrive in Iowa City
June 27 - 28, 2024: International Student Orientation

July 12, 2024: Earliest date you may enter the U.S. in F-1 or J-1 status
