Diversity and Identity Abroad

The University of Iowa Study Abroad office is committed to diversity and inclusion in our programming. Travel abroad provides an excellent opportunity to consider one's personal identity in a new cultural context. When traveling with a group, learning can be enhanced for everyone when a diverse range of identity factors are considered through the lens of a new culture and society.

The following resources are intended to help facilitate the participation in study abroad of students from diverse backgrounds and identities, many of whom are traditionally underrepresented on study abroad programs.

Scholarship Opportunities in Support of Diversity

The Diversity Ambassador Scholarship  for UI undergraduate students is intended to support the diversification of students who study abroad. You'll find more details about this and other awards you can consider applying for in the Undergraduate Scholarships section of the UI Study Abroad web page.

Diversity Abroad, of which the University of Iowa is a member, is an organization that provides a searchable scholarship database on their website.
