School for International Training (SIT) offers a number of Study Abroad programs in a variety of locations. They also offer a great deal of need-based scholarships to all qualified students who participate in semester-length SIT Study Abroad programs. All University of Iowa students who are accepted to a SIT program will receive a $1,500 SIT Public University scholarship. In addition to this automatic award, students should indicate their desire to apply for other need-based SIT scholarships; SIT offers a broad range of awards, including a Pell Grant Match to students who receive a federal Pell Grant.
SIT scholarship deadlines are consistent with the Study Abroad program application dates:
- May 15 for fall programs
- November 1 for spring programs
In addition to the SIT Public University Scholarship, be sure to check the SIT website to review other awards; it's easy!
When submitting your program application to SIT, indicate your wish to apply for SIT scholarships and include the name and email address of a financial aid counselor at your home institution. Add SIT’s school code (008860) to your FAFSA form. Confirm receipt of all required financial aid information with the SIT Study Abroad financial aid coordinator (802) 258-3503. There is no separate SIT scholarship application to complete. Check with your University of Iowa Study Abroad Advisor for more information!
