IES Public University Grant

Overview

All students participating in an IES Abroad academic-credit, semester-length* program through the University of Iowa will receive an automatic $2,000 credit. UI-Sponsored program (ABRD:XXXX) awards will be released through the U-Bill process; non UI-Sponsored program (ABRD:3500) awards as a direct discount to the total fee billed by IES Abroad invoice sent to student.

Eligibility requirements

  • Enrollment at a public college or university that is a Member or Associate member of the IES Abroad consortium
  • Acceptance and attendance in an IES Abroad program authorized by your home school
  • Standard programs only; customized programs are not eligible for IES Abroad financial aid

Application process

Students meeting the eligibility listed above will automatically receive the IES Public University Grant. Your Study Abroad advisor will communicate your acceptance to financial aid upon confirmation.

Submission deadline

Deadlines for the IES Public University Grant are the same as the application deadline for the applicable IES Abroad program.

*Summer programs, customized programs and full-time semester internship programs not included.  Academic Year and Calendar Year programs will have the Public University Grant applied to the first term only.
