Study abroad to host Dominican Republic info sessions, Jan. 30

December 13th, 2017

Study Abroad will host two information sessions on its Dominican Republic program, on Tuesday, January 30, at 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the Northwestern Room of the Iowa Memorial Union.

The International Hawkeye Service Team program is a service-learning based experience open to students from all majors. Students will spend 18 days in the Dominican Republic (May 15 - June 2, 2018) engaging in service activities, visiting local government offices, nonprofits, and organizations already working in the community. The 2018 program will focus on education and eco-tourism, with opportunities to learn about other fields of interest such as business, public health, youth development/recreation, and agriculture. No previous experience is required.

This program is part of the Hawkeye Service Team program offered through Student Life at the University of Iowa.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Amy Bowes in advance at or 319 335-0353.
