Did you know over 1,200 UI students studied abroad last year in 79 different countries? Have you considered studying abroad but aren’t sure where to begin? Study Abroad in International Programs invites all UI students to discover global education opportunities during the annual study abroad fair Tuesday, September 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the second floor of the University Capitol Centre. Learn about opportunities to study, work, volunteer, and intern abroad in nearly any geographic area of the world!

Students find their writing stride in Dublin

Students on the six-week summer Irish Writing Program program have the extraordinary opportunity not only to study the history and culture of Ireland through its literature, but also to begin the discovery of their own identities as writers. It’s an experience with transformative results for many. This is one of many short-term and faculty led programs that will be represented at this spring's Study Abroad Fair on Thursday, Jan 29.

New UI student group sets sights for volunteer trip abroad

A new student organization at the University of Iowa will offer its members a unique opportunity to volunteer abroad next spring. The organization, called International Volunteers, is open to students of all majors who are interested in gaining volunteer experience while exploring another country. Members will collectively decide on a country where they will complete volunteer projects based on their skills and interests. The trip will last approximately 3-4 weeks and begin after finals week in May 2013.
