TAIPEI, Taiwan -- "The students from Taiwan, who have gone to United States to study, have done a superb job over the past decades, and they are a main pillar of Sino-American cultural interchange," Alec B. Scranton, dean of the college of engineering of the University of Iowa said as he presented an Outstanding University of Iowa Alumni Award to Cheng Cheng-kung (鄭誠功) in Taipei. 

Cheng, a distinguished professor of the biomedical engineering department and director of Orthopedic Device Research Center at National Yang Ming University, was honored for his major academic contributions and research.
