MOOCs: The Next Frontier of Learning?

Please join the Iowa Chapter of the Fulbright Association and UI International Programs for a presentation by Christopher Merrill on “The Next Frontier of Learning? MOOCs and the Writing University.” The event will be held Friday, October 10, 2014, from 12:30-1:20 p.m. in 11117 University Capitol Centre.

Merrill is professor and director of the UI’s International Writing Program (IWP). The IWP has conducted three Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs) in the last eight months, which have attracted more than 10,000 students from around the world. Merrill will discuss the evolution of this project and what its success might mean for higher education.

This Fulbright Lunch & Learn Seminar is free and open to the public. The presentation will last 20-30 minutes, allowing time for discussion and socializing. Refreshments will be provided, but feel free to bring your own lunch.
