The trial of Derek Chauvin has exacted tremendous stress both nationally and locally. International Programs at the University of Iowa wishes to affirm its support of all members of the Hawkeye family, especially communities of color that continue to be unduly impacted by these events. The verdict, while providing a moment of both accountability and relief, reminds us that much work needs to be done in order to achieve the goals of universal access and equity on our campus. International Programs remains staunch in its dedication to inclusion, equality, and justice as essential elements in building and maintaining an environment where all people can thrive.
