Learn Chinese calligraphy at free workshop Feb. 6

Come try your hand at the ancient and beautiful art of Chinese calligraphy at a free workshop Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, from 7-8:30 p.m. in 1117 University Capitol Centre on the UI campus.

The workshop is open to the public and no prior experience of Chinese or calligraphy is necessary to attend. Participants will get hands-on experience using calligraphy ink and brushes. To ensure enough materials are available, please register for the workshop by emailing or calling 319-335-3857.

Chinese calligraphy workshops are hosted by the Confucius Institute at the University of Iowa and led by Ramon Lim, University of Iowa Professor Emeritus of neurology and winner of the 2005 Eighth International Calligraphy Competition. Lim’s work is widely exhibited in China, Korea, and Japan.
