See the event poster

UI Study Abroad and the UI Center for Diversity and Enrichment will hold a joint Study Abroad Q & A session on Wednesday, Feb 18 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Latino/Native American Cultural Center on campus. Food will be provided.

The event will feature a panel of returned study abroad students speaking about the logistics of study abroad as well as their personal experience and the ways in which it challenged them to think about identity in a new cultural context.

Attendees at the event are encouraged to pose any and all of their study abroad questions to panelists.

Study abroad can be a rewarding learning experience that challenges preconceived notions about identity and we encourage students of all backgrounds to consider study abroad as an option in their academic plan.

Event sponsors include International Programs, Center for Diversity and Enrichment, the Latino Native American, Afro-American, and Asian Pacific Cultural Centers, and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Resource Center.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Cory Petersen in advance at 319-335-0353.
