Confucius Institute offers free Taiji classes beginning Jan. 5

December 18th, 2015

Interested in learning Taiji? Join the Confucius Institute for a free, five-week class!

Learn how to enhance your overall health through increased flexibility, relaxation, and stress control. Practice fundamental Taiji movements under the instruction of Haiming Chen, an experienced Taiji trainer who has led classes in China, Japan, and the U.S. for more than 20 years.

Classes will meet starting January 5 and will run through the remainder of the spring 2016 semester, on Tuesday evenings from 6:40-7:40 p.m. in 1117 University Capitol Centre.

All UI students and members of the Iowa City community aged 14 and above are invited to participate. No materials are needed but loose, comfortable clothing and light, flat shoes are recommended attire.

Registration and a waiver form are required and can be found on this Confucius Institute web page. Please register by January 5 prior to class time.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Erin Mullins in advance at 319-335-3857.
