The University of Iowa

Advocacy Statement to University of Iowa International Students

Dear All,
On behalf of the Office of International Programs, please let us extend the warmest of Hawkeye welcomes to new and returning international students at the University of Iowa. We know that the past few years have seen disruption, confusion, and animosity toward our friends and neighbors in the international community. This is not what our institution represents. We are enriched each day by your expertise, your voices, and your cultures. The University of Iowa could not be what it is without you. As we begin this new academic year, we confirm our commitment to you by providing updated resources designed to help you navigate challenges you may face on a practical and personal level. Please know that we are your staunch advocates. In affirming our support, we also encourage you to stand up and speak out for yourselves. The UI cannot succeed unless you succeed. Reach out to us at any time, and please accept our thanks for letting us stand in solidarity with you.
With all best wishes,
Russ Ganim
