Global Health Studies Awards

Global Health Studies Conference Travel Awards

The Global Health Studies Program (GHSP) invites applications from undergraduate and graduate students for a $500 award to attend a U.S. or foreign global health conference or meeting during calendar year 2016. All currently registered undergraduate and graduate University of Iowa students may apply, but preference will be given to students in the GHSP certificate program. Two awards will be given: one to an undergraduate student and one to a graduate student. Students need not be U.S. Citizens to be eligible.

Visit the Global Health Studies Conference Travel Awards webpage for more information.

Global Health Studies International Experience Awards

Students who are completing the Global Health Studies certificate must complete an approved International Experience during which they address an important global health issue in a systematic way. Typically this is done in an international setting and eight weeks is considered the optimal amount of time to meet this requirement.  The international experience may be completed as part of a study abroad program, a service learning course, an internship, a volunteer experience, or as an independent research project.
