Learn how you can receive up to $25,000 for international research or study abroad while studying a critical language like Arabic, Chinese, Portuguese, or Swahili.

International Programs will host a virtual Boren Awards information session on Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. CST, via Zoom. Learn about award requirements, the application process, and have your questions answered by campus advisor Dr. Karen Wachsmuth.

Boren Awards provide American undergraduate and graduate students with the resources and encouragement they need to acquire skills and experiences in areas of the world critical to the future security of our nation, in exchange for their commitment to seek work in the federal government. The Boren awards offer up to $25,000 for undergraduate study abroad and up to $25,000 for graduate student language study and international research.

Boren Scholarship | UI campus deadline: Jan. 18, 2023, noon CST

Boren Fellowship | National deadline: Jan. 25, 2023, 4 p.m. CST
