Major Advising Pages (MAPs)

Whether it's for a summer, a semester, or a year, going overseas is always an exciting time and a great way to learn new things about yourself and the world around you. When you combine study abroad with your major, you can go even further, and our Major Advising Pages (MAPs) can help get you there!

MAPs outline your major's academic requirements, suggest times for students in your major to study abroad, and provide lists of recommended programs based on your major.

To start, visit "Steps to Studying Abroad" to learn about the process of planning your adventure. Then come back here to explore some of your major-specific options.

Currently, there are MAPs for Business, Communication Studies, Engineering, English, Environmental Science, Geography, History, International Studies, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology. The Office for Study Abroad is working on MAPs for Art & Art History, Journalism, Mass Communication, American Studies, Cinema & Comparative Literature, Anthropology, German, and Biology -- and we'll be adding more all the time, so if you don’t yet see your major listed, check back with us again soon. Also, while MAPs have not been created for all majors, advisers at the Office for Study Abroad can always help you find the program that is right for you. For more information, visit the Resource Room located in the Office for Study Abroad.
